1. Who we are

ClausePulse is an automated contract renewal monitoring platform operated by Edward Wright Jones ("we," "us," or "our"), based in Virginia. Our website is clausepulse.com. Questions? Email legal@clausepulse.com.

2. What we collect

Account data — name, work email address, and company name when you sign up.
Contract documents — PDFs and text files you upload for analysis. These are processed to extract dates, terms, and renewal clauses and are not stored permanently after analysis is complete.
Usage data — pages visited, features used, and actions taken inside the dashboard, collected via server logs and analytics.
Payment data — billing information is collected and stored by Stripe, our payment processor. We do not store full card numbers.
Communications — emails and messages you send us directly.

3. How we use your data

To provide and improve the ClausePulse service.
To send renewal alerts, account notifications, and product updates.
To process payments and manage your subscription.
To respond to support requests.
To comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not use your uploaded contracts to train AI models.

4. How we share your data

We share data only with the service providers necessary to operate ClausePulse:

Stripe — payment processing.
OpenAI — AI-powered contract analysis. Documents sent for analysis are subject to OpenAI's data usage policies for API customers (not used for training).
Resend — transactional email delivery.

We may disclose data if required by law or to protect our legal rights.

5. Data retention

We retain account data for as long as your account is active. Uploaded contract files are deleted after analysis is complete and are not retained in our systems. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing legal@clausepulse.com.

6. Cookies and tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you logged in and to understand how the site is used. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser, but some parts of the service may not function correctly.

7. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, or to restrict or object to certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at legal@clausepulse.com. We will respond within 30 days.

8. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS), row-level database security, and authenticated access controls. See our Security page for details.

9. Children

ClausePulse is a business-to-business service and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "last updated" date at the top. Material changes will be communicated by email to registered users.
